As the grotto approaches its one hundredth year, it is evident that both time and the changing seasons have both taken their toll. The list of items to be repaired is quite extensive and includes:
Stones, glass, and crockery are missing from the sides of the structures.
Handrails and posts are broken.
Missing mosaic tiles need to be replaced and grouted.
Missing seashells need to be reinstalled.
Coatings need to be applied to roofs.
Cracks need to be sealed to stop damage from the freeze-thaw cycle.
